A Maintenance Manager oversees the Maintenance Team to effectively manage and maintain all hotel facilities and equipment, ensuring the highest levels of safety, security, conservation, and compliance.
What will I be doing
As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of all maintenance functions within the hotel, including preventative maintenance and energy conservation initiatives. You will also support the development of the Maintenance Team and ensure adherence to all regulatory and brand standards. Specifically, a Maintenance Manager will perform the following duties to the highest standard:
- Lead the Maintenance Team in the daytoday operations of hotel maintenance, including service standards, equipment inspections, and work scheduling.
- Coordinate closely with the Housekeeping Team to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks for guest rooms and public areas.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures that ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, and maintain proper operating conditions for machinery, systems, and assets.
- Liaise with relevant government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory and safety regulations.
- Prepare and manage the Maintenance Department's Capital Expenditure and Repairs & Maintenance budgets.
- Conduct routine daily checks across the property to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform mechanical diagnoses, maintenance, and repairs on hotel systems and equipment.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external contractors.
- Ensure all hotel fixtures, fittings, and equipment remain in safe working condition, taking immediate action to resolve any unsafe situations.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the hotel's emergency response and safety protocols.
- Lead and monitor energy conservation initiatives to reduce property operating costs.
- Coordinate renovation projects, including scope definition, budgeting, contractor management, and quality assurance.
- Execute special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Recommend and implement environmentallyfriendly equipment and maintenance solutions.
- Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Maintenance Department, taking corrective actions to enhance productivity, quality, equipment uptime, and audit performance.
- Oversee all Team Memberrelated activities within the Maintenance Department, including recruitment, performance reviews, training, career development, disciplinary actions, and team motivation.

- Strong, advanced knowledge of building maintenance, facilities operations, and technical systems
- A qualification in Maintenance, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and basic accounting principles

- A commitment to delivering a high level of internal and external customer service
- Demonstrated leadership ability and prior experience managing a maintenance or technical team
- High standards of professional presentation and grooming
- Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of operational needs
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Previous experience in facilities management or property maintenance
- Proficiency with computers, including maintenance systems, reporting tools, and relevant software

- Additional technical or engineering qualifications relevant to building systems, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical maintenance
