Overview
Our client, a manufacturing company based in Riyadh Industrial Area 2, is looking for a Maintenance Officer who will be responsible for supporting daily maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, safe working conditions, and minimal production downtime. The role involves conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues, coordinating with production and other departments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and company policies within the packaging facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for production machinery, utilities, and facility equipment (as assigned).
- Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to reduce downtime.
- Respond to urgent breakdowns and support production continuity with fast, safe interventions.
- Conduct routine inspections for machines and facility systems (air compressors, pumps, motors, conveyors, basic utilities, etc. depending on the plant setup).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records: work orders, checklists, spare parts usage, and equipment history.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices and compliance with HSE requirements while working on equipment.
- Coordinate with production and QC teams to schedule maintenance with minimal operational disruption.
- Monitor and support spare parts availability; raise requests and follow up with procurement for critical items.
- Support contractors and third-party technicians on-site (supervise access, scope, safety compliance, and quality of work).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop and maintenance areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial environment (packaging/printing is a plus).
- Practical knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings/manuals and follow SOPs.
- Familiarity with industrial safety practices (PPE, LOTO, safe work permits where applicable).
- Basic computer skills for reporting and maintenance logs (Excel/CMMS is a plus).
- Arabic is required; English is an advantage (especially for manuals and vendor coordination).
- Willingness to work shifts/on-call when needed.
