Job Purpose
The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate financial analysis, cost control, and performance reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making. The role focuses on cost optimization, profitability analysis, budgeting, and financial planning within a fast-paced F&B environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
- Analyze food, beverage, and operating costs against budgets and standards
- Provide actionable insights on margins, wastage, yield, and cost variances
Cost Control & Inventory Management
- Monitor and analyze food and beverage costs, recipe costing, and portion control
- Review inventory levels, stock movements, shrinkage, and wastage
- Support physical stock counts and reconcile variances
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with operations teams
- Track actual performance versus budget and provide corrective recommendations
Business & Operational Support
- Partner with operations, procurement, and production teams to improve cost efficiency
- Support pricing decisions, promotions, and new product costings
- Evaluate supplier pricing, contracts, and cost-saving initiatives
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support audit processes and ensure accurate documentation
- Ensure compliance with local tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements
Systems & Process Improvement
- Improve financial processes, reporting tools, and cost tracking systems
- Support ERP, POS, and inventory system integration and reporting
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 36 years of management accounting experience, preferably in F&B, hospitality, or manufacturing
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory-driven businesses
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Solid understanding of food costing, margin analysis, and inventory controls
- High attention to detail with strong business acumen
- Ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance teams
