Job Description

Job Purpose:

Manage the development and deployment of commercial frameworks and guidelines and support the Development & Design team with all commercial and contract management activities with the aim to always ensure cost-effectiveness and ARDARA's financial best interest.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy Implementation and/or Contribution

  • Contribute to the implementation of the department strategy ensuring alignment to divisional strategy, ARDARA's vision, mission, and corporate objectives.

Budgeting and Financial Performance

  • Participate in setting and consolidating the department budget and report financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance, and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities.

Job-Specific Accountabilities:

Commercial Management

  • Manage the development of the commercial framework and guidelines for the Development & Design function, in line with wider commercial frameworks and policies set by the central Commercial function.
  • Act as the focal point for the Design team for any commercial-related matter to ensure that ARDARA's interests are safeguarded.

Contract Management

  • Oversee the execution of on-going contracts with third-party service providers to ensure the achievement of agreed upon outputs / deliverables within predefined timeframes, in collaboration with concerned stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract progress and advise on appropriate actions as needed.
  • Oversee risk mitigation and management studies and measures performed during contract evaluation and negotiation to reduce negative implications on ARDARA; provide guidance regarding contract management and administration practices.
  • Work closely with the central Commercial function to provide necessary inputs for vendor / supplier's performance evaluations.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / (preferably MRICSs and FRICSs or equivalent) from a recognized and accredited university.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in commercial roles in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a developer, or commercial / contract management consultancy.
  • A proven track record of deploying forward-looking strategic, managerial, and operational methods (including future/cutting-edge technologies).
  • A thorough understanding of the FIDIC suite of contracts, and Consultant-type contracts.
