We're looking for a Manager Contracts to drive the end-to-end review, negotiation, and strategic risk assessment of complex commercial agreements while ensuring seamless alignment with legal, compliance, and litigation frameworks.
Job Purpose:
Under general supervision of the Director-Contracts, the Manager-Contracts will play a critical role in Contract reviews, negotiations, drafting, risk assessment and other related activities such as Legal and Compliance as well as Litigation co-ordinations and preliminary reviews
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and negotiate contracts received from customers and vendors.
- Highlight risks to Sales, Finance and other teams as applicable and complete risk assessments on contracts.
- Follow-up and co-ordinate with different teams to complete the review of contracts.
- Drafting bespoke agreements, notices, letters and other documents.
- Preparing reports and risk assessments to provide gap analysis and mitigations.
- Managing a team and supporting their daily tasks with supervision and guidance.
- Supporting the other teams with contractual queries and research.
- Co-ordination with Group functions for compliance and governance.
- Co-ordination with law firms and Group litigation teams for any active or impending/threatened litigation matters.
Qualifications & Experience:
- The candidate should have a bachelor's in law degree (LLB), Masters degree is preferable (LLM).
- The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of work experience with at least 5 years experience in UAE working on commercial contracts (Regional knowledge on contracts is desirable),
- The candidate should have a good command of PowerPoint and MS Excel and be well
- versed with MS Word functionalities.
- It is preferable if the candidate has working knowledge on IT contracts,
- The candidate must have experience in handling complex contracts independently,
- Most importantly, the candidate must have a good hold on contractual terms and general
- boiler plate clauses as well as the critical commercial clauses with impact on overall contractual risk.
- Skills to adapt to various requirements and requests raised to the Contracts team and provide suitable solutions.
Education:
- The candidate should have a bachelor's in law degree (LLB), Master's degree is preferable (LLM);
