Job Description

Reports to: Director, AUC Venture Lab

Purpose:

The job holder will manage and design the strategic marketing and communications framework for AUC Venture Lab (V-Lab), the region's leading university-based startup accelerator. He or She will be responsible for developing comprehensive strategies that promote V-Lab's programs, such as Startup, Fintech, and others, ensuring high-visibility brand positioning across regional media. The role oversees the entire marketing workflow while managing the department's budget and supervising the execution of campaigns to support the commercialization of Egyptian innovations.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Brand Management:

  • Design and implement marketing and communication strategies for V-Lab's various programs, such as Startup, Fintech, and others, to ensure brand consistency
  • Create pivots and iterations to enhance the marketing strategy based on market trends and feedback
  • Ensure the V-Lab brand meets expectations by monitoring marketing trends and gathering feedback from partners and funders
  • Establish connections and strive for V-Lab positioning in regional media and with content creators, offline and online

Operations and Content Supervision:

  • Manage the execution of the marketing plan, including digital, offline, public relations, and promotional events
  • Direct the workflow resulting from marketing activities to the respective program team members for action
  • Edit Venture Lab articles before publishing and source visuals, such as photography or videography, to support content needs
  • Assist the associate director in any other marketing and communication needs

Reporting and Events:

  • Provide a bi-yearly performance report on the implementation of the communications strategy
  • Attend and represent V-Lab in events and conferences as needed

Additional Related Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including four years of specific experience in marketing or communications

Technical Skills:

  • Creative: Strong creative abilities with words and images
  • Communication: Excellent Arabic and English writing and speaking skills; effective communication skills
  • Digital: Strong knowledge of popular social media platforms and monitoring tools
  • Managerial: Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and detail oriented
  • Personal: Positive, high-energy attitude; social and willing to meet new people
