Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Managing Director with deep expertise in Financial Communications to lead high-impact programs across capital markets, corporate reputation, and strategic stakeholder engagement. This role requires extensive experience advising senior leadership through complex financial situations, including transactions, restructuring, crisis events, and ongoing investor relations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory

  • Act as a senior advisor to C-suite executives and boards on financial communication strategies.
  • Provide counsel on capital markets perceptions, investor expectations, and reputation risks.
  • Lead strategic communications for M&A, IPOs, divestitures, restructuring, special situations, and activist engagements.
  • Develop integrated communication plans aligned with corporate, financial, and regulatory objectives.

Client Engagement & Delivery

  • Oversee the development of financial narratives, earnings materials, investor presentations, Q&As, and related disclosures.
  • Interpret market trends, analyst perspectives, and shareholder sentiment to shape communication strategy.
  • Ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of all strategic counsel and communication materials.

Practice & Business Growth

  • Drive business development, including pitching, proposal creation, and strategic relationship growth.
  • Identify market opportunities and contribute to the expansion of financial communications offerings.
  • Represent the firm through thought leadership, industry engagement, and consistent market presence.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop senior and junior consultants within the team.
  • Inspire a high-performance culture built on collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Oversee staffing, performance evaluation, and professional development for team members.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in financial communications, capital markets advisory, investor relations, or corporate communications.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on high-stakes financial events, including M&A, IPOs, restructuring, crisis communications, and activist situations.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, financial reporting cycles, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to work directly with C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, especially in simplifying complex financial information.
  • A track record of commercial success, business development, and client relationship growth.
  • Previous experience in a top-tier consultancy or corporate environment is an advantage.
