About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the project management of precision machined mechanical spare parts. This role is central to ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of critical components that support our advanced engineering projects.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in CNC machining and/or Casting processes, understands tolerances and engineering drawings, and has successfully managed suppliers for machined parts from RFQ through to Quality Control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end projects for precision-machined parts, from RFQ to delivery.
- Evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor relationships.
- Review and interpret 2D engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with suppliers on CNC machining methods (milling, turning, tooling) to ensure manufacturability.
- Oversee quality control and inspection processes to guarantee compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate internally with design, procurement, and quality teams to meet project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 510 years experience in managing CNC machining / precision mechanical parts procurement projects.
- Proven track record in supplier/vendor management, RFQs, purchasing, and project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tolerances, GD&T, and material specifications.
- Experience in quality control and inspection of machined components.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Supplier management for machined components in industries such as energy, aerospace, automotive, or industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with supply chain optimization and vendor qualification.
- Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
