About The Role:
As a Marine Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate cost estimates for shipyard projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and project constraints. You will work closely with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to create detailed scopes of work and maintain compliance across all functional areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing proposals, specifications, and drawings to define project scope.
Developing accurate cost estimates for ship repair/conversion projects, incorporating subcontractor/vendor quotes.
Preparing detailed scopes of work and maintaining compliance across contracts.
Investigate project constraints and incorporate them into cost analysis.
Collaborating with engineers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver competitive, compliant bids.
Traveling as needed to support project planning and client engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of experience in ship repair or conversion.
7+ years in marine project estimating.
Strong expertise in cost estimation, proposal preparation, and contract review.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Access, and Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
