Marine Technical Superintendent

The job holder shall Oversee and lead the overall fleet maintenance operations, manage technical challenges, and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure that all assigned vessels are available, dependable, and safe at all times.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintenance

Oversee the dry-docking of the ships and ensure that the repair and maintenance are carried out timely, satisfactorily, and within the budget.

Ensure that the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) is carried out in all vessels.

QHSE

Ensure safe working practices and lead the maintenance personnel to continuously improve the quality, and care of the environment to comply with the QHSE policies and regulations.

Resource Control

Manage the resource control of the Technical Unit in order to ensure effective utilization of manpower and materials to produce optimum output.

Technical Advice and Troubleshooting

Provide technical advice to subordinates and support them in the achievement of their jobs and to provide them with feedback and recommendations for future improvement based on technical issues faced in maintenance.

The job holder is responsible for ensuring PMS and managing the repair and maintenance in all vessels.

He is expected to provide technical support and analyze performance and maintenance expenditures.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering or any equivalent qualifications

Experience:

Minimum Experience:

At least 5 years of sea and onshore experience in vessel maintenance and at least 10 years of management experience in the same position.

Skills

Job-Specific Skills:

Ability to manage fleet maintenance operations

Knowledgeable in PMS of offshore vessels.

Knowledge in safe working practices in vessel maintenance and appropriate regulatory requirements.

Project Management skills

Ability to work with suppliers regarding best products for maintaining the fleet

Knowledge in QHSE

Generic Skills:

Effective communication skills in English and Arabic
