Job Description
The Marketing and Events Assistant Manager plays a key role in delivering integrated marketing and event initiatives that enhance brand visibility, support student recruitment, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and elevate the university's profile in the UAE and internationally.
This role requires a highly organised, creative, and proactive professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, contribute strategically to marketing planning, and deliver high-quality events that reflect the institution's standards and ambitions. A key focus will be on improving operational efficiencies, leveraging digital tools to streamline processes, and actively seeking new opportunities to promote the university across all channels.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing Coordination & Digitalisation
- Support the development and execution of annual marketing plans aligned with institutional objectives.
- Deliver targeted campaigns to support student recruitment, programme promotion, alumni engagement, and partnership development.
- Actively identify and pursue new marketing opportunities to promote the university, enhance brand visibility, and strengthen engagement with key audiences.
- Coordinate content creation across digital and print platforms, including but not limited to:
- Website updates
- Social media content and scheduling
- Email marketing campaigns
- Brochures and prospectuses
- Event collateral
- Leverage digital tools and platforms to automate workflows, improve campaign tracking, and enhance audience engagement.
- Monitor campaign performance and provide insight reports with recommendations for optimisation.
- Ensure full compliance with brand guidelines across all communications and materials.
- Support paid media campaigns and assist with agency coordination where required.
Event Management & Operational Efficiency
- Plan, manage, and deliver a portfolio of institutional events, including:
- Open Days & Student Recruitment Events
- Graduation Ceremonies
- Industry Panels and Conferences
- Community Engagement Events
- Student Experience Activities
- Develop detailed event project plans and timelines with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Manage event budgets, supplier negotiations, procurement processes, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate venues, catering, AV, branding, guest management, and logistics using digital event management tools where possible.
- Oversee on-site event delivery, ensuring smooth execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Develop post-event evaluation reports including attendance metrics, feedback analysis, ROI assessment, and recommendations for process improvements.
- Seek innovative ways to use events as opportunities to promote the university and engage new audiences.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong working relationships with students, faculty, alumni, corporate partners, and suppliers.
- Support alumni engagement initiatives and networking opportunities.
- Represent the university at education fairs, exhibitions, industry conferences, and networking events.
- Assist in strengthening partnerships with schools, industry organisations, and community groups.
- Identify new opportunities to showcase the university and expand its network of collaborators and advocates.
Digital & Communications Support
- Manage social media platforms, content calendars, and digital marketing initiatives, optimising reach and engagement.
- Assist in drafting press releases, announcements, and internal communications.
- Monitor engagement metrics and recommend improvements for digital communications efficiency.
- Maintain media contact lists and assist with PR coordination where required.
Administrative, Operational & Efficiency Support
- Maintain accurate databases of vendors, prospective students, event participants, and media contacts.
- Implement and manage digital tools to streamline reporting, communications, and marketing operations.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and performance summaries for senior management.
- Track marketing and event budgets against forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce duplication, and increase operational efficiency.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Marketing and Operations Manager.
RequirementsQualifications and ExperienceEducation
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field (essential).
- Professional marketing or event management certifications are advantageous.
Experience
- 35 years experience in marketing, events management, or communications roles.
- Experience within higher education or the education sector is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end events, multi-channel campaigns, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Proven track record of implementing efficiencies and digitalisation in workflows is a plus.
- Experience identifying and executing new opportunities to promote an institution or brand is highly desirable.
