Role Description

TopRock Group is seeking a full-time Mechanical Estimation Engineer and Electrical Estimation Engineer roles in Dubai. These Engineers will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, understanding detailed technical drawings, and evaluating tenders, prepare accurate and detailed electrical cost estimates for MEP tenders in residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings across the UAE by reviewing tender documents, performing quantity take-offs, obtaining compliant quotations, and compiling complete bid submissions.

Experience: 47 years (MEP contracting / tendering; UAE/GCC)

Key Responsibilities

Review tender documents ,drawings, specifications, BOQ, scope narratives & addenda

Perform detailed quantity take-offsfrom tender/IFC drawings and specifications.

Prepare accurate and competitive estimates covering materials, labor, equipment/tools, preliminaries, overheads, and contingencies.

Develop rate build-ups using UAE market pricing, productivity norms, installation methodology, and program assumptions.

Float RFQs and coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors for quotations; verify compliance and completeness.

Prepare quotation comparison sheets and recommend best-value technically compliant options.

Identify scope gaps, risks, inclusions/exclusions, and assumptions; draft tender clarifications and commercial qualifications.

Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings; capture constraints affecting pricing and execution strategy.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and operations teams to validate scope, construction approach, and schedule impacts.

Support value engineering and alternative proposals compliant with client/consultant requirements.

Support post-award handover (budget breakdown, basis of estimate, tender assumptions for project controls and procurement).

Maintain unit rate databases, supplier lists, historical cost records, and lessons learned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma Engineering or equivalent.

47 years experience in estimation/tendering within an MEP contracting environment (UAE/GCC).

Strong knowledge of UAE market rates, suppliers, subcontractors, and typical project procurement lead times.

Ability to interpret drawings (plans/sections/details), schematics, equipment schedules, and specifications.

Strong skills in quantity take-off, rate analysis, and tender documentation under tight deadlines.

Proficiency in MS Excel/ word ; familiarity with take-off tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Planswift, CostX (advantage).

Good communication and coordination skills with deadline management skills
