Job Brief:
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to support maintenance operations, ensure equipment reliability, and assist with technical troubleshooting within the facility. The role involves planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, coordinating with suppliers for spare parts and technical services, and supporting project-related works when required.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment and should be capable of leading maintenance activities during shutdowns while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for the assigned area to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the availability of spare parts required for scheduled maintenance activities and emergency repairs.
- Participate in project-related works when instructed by the supervisor or management.
- Contact suppliers for spare part inquiries and coordinate with vendors for technical service requirements when necessary.
- Act as a team leader during maintenance shutdowns to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks under the engineer's responsibility are executed in a safe and controlled manner.
- Participate in the on-call roster to provide technical support during equipment breakdowns or urgent maintenance situations.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and support the maintenance team in resolving operational problems.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations when instructed by the supervisor to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation together with maintenance technicians before performing maintenance tasks.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma inMechanical Engineeringor a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum4 years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineerin a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices, preventive maintenance planning, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to coordinate with suppliers and vendors for spare parts procurement and technical service requirements.
- Experience leading maintenance activities during shutdowns or plant maintenance periods.
- Familiarity with safety procedures, job safety analysis preparation, and safe work practices in industrial environments.
- Strong problem-solving and technical analysis skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance technicians and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and support emergency maintenance activities when required.
