Responsibilities:
- Design of various HVAC systems for various project types.
- Carry out complete HVAC designs that adhere to local and international standards requirements.
- Prepare technical design reports, feasibility studies, specifications, and priced bill of quantities.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical, infrastructure, structural engineers, and sub-consultants to ensure seamless integration of the mechanical systems with other building elements.
- Coordinate and liaise with all project stakeholders, including architects, electrical and structural engineers, sub-consultants, clients, operators, project managers, and QS team.
- Attend client progress meetings and value engineering workshops to verify design assumptions and address client requirements.
- Demonstrate expertise in the use of HVAC software including HAP or similar.
- Prepare mechanical calculation documents, and design drawings and ensure that it is in line with client/ operator guidelines, local authority and international code requirements, and best engineering practices.
- Prepare schematic drawings for central chilled water, ventilation, and smoke management systems.
- Size various mechanical networks and equipment and coordinate with the manufacturers to attain proper selections.
- Provide support to the site supervision team to close contractors technical queries and/or resultant construction changes, and prepare technical clarifications to the tendered design to suit specific on-site construction and coordination issues.
- Liaise with statutory authorities to secure design approvals.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of design workflow using BIM, particularly Revit
- Experience in delivering a variety of project types from concept to completion (Towers, commercial & residential buildings, hospitals, hotels..).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 5 to 8 years of experience with a focus on Heating Ventilation and Air conditioning (HVAC) and a minimum of three years of UAE project experience.
- Knowledge and skills to develop design concepts ensuring that all aspects are technically sound and compatible with the scope of work.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
