Mechanical Engineer Public Health and Fire Fighting Systems
Role Overview:
Engineering role supporting design review and peer review for public health
(plumbing/drainage) and fire fighting systems in complex building developments. The role
also requires capability to review gas and fuel systems within plot/super-plot boundaries.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 7 years of experience in Public Health and Fire Fighting building services.
Proven involvement in design and/or peer review of building projects within Saudi Arabia.
Ability to review LPG/SNG gas networks and fuel systems (within plot/super-plot limits),
where applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
Review plumbing and drainage designs (water supply, boosters, hot water systems,
drainage/venting, pumping, etc.).
Review fire fighting designs (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, tanks, standpipes, special
hazards where applicable).
Verify compliance with Saudi requirements (e.g., Civil Defense) and applicable international
standards (e.g., NFPA) as required by the project.
Assess hydraulic calculations, system zoning, equipment sizing, and critical interfaces with
architectural/structural design.
Review LPG/SNG and fuel system layouts, safety requirements, and integration with
plot/super-plot constraints.
Issue clear peer review comments, track close-out responses, and highlight design risks and
life-safety concerns.
Screening Notes (Important):
Building design background is essential (site supervision / O&M-heavy profiles are not
preferred).
Experience should demonstrate hands-on design deliverables and/or formal design review
/ peer review participation.
Large, complex building developments exposure is required (mixed-use, hospitality,
commercial, residential, cultural, iconic).
Local Saudi Arabia experience is strongly required (codes, authority interfaces, and market
practices).
Profiles must demonstrate building fire protection design/review experiencenot only
inspection or site execution.
For gas/fuel exposure: provide project examples where gas/fuel systems were
reviewed/designed (scope, responsibilities, standards used).
