A leading 200-bed multispecialty hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an accomplished Medical Director to provide strategic clinical leadership, oversee medical governance, and ensure the highest standards of patient care. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Governance
- Provide overall leadership for medical staff, ensuring high-quality, evidencebased, and patient-centered care.
- Develop, implement, and oversee clinical policies, protocols, and medical practice standards across all departments.
- Ensure clinical excellence through regular audits, peer reviews, and performance evaluations.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Lead initiatives to enhance patient safety, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee adherence to DOH, JCI, and hospital accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with quality teams on morbidity/mortality reviews, incident reporting, and continuous improvement programs.
Strategic Planning & Service Development
- Work closely with executive leadership to shape the hospital's clinical strategy, service line growth, and longterm expansion plans.
- Evaluate and introduce new clinical programs, technologies, and best practices to enhance care delivery.
Medical Staff Management
- Recruit, credential, and onboard physicians and advanced practitioners.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Resolve medical staff issues, support physician engagement, and promote effective communication across clinical teams.
Operational & Administrative Oversight
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and department heads to ensure efficient clinical workflows and resource utilization.
- Participate in budgeting, manpower planning, and operational decisionmaking aligned with clinical needs.
- Support emergency preparedness, infection control, and riskmanagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Board-certified Specialist/Consultant with valid DOH/HAAD licensure or eligibility.
- Minimum 10+ years of clinical experience, including 5+ years in medical leadership or medical administration.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality governance frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills.
- Experience in multispecialty hospital environments within the UAE or GCC highly preferred.
- Physicians with a specialty in Anesthesia or Surgery are particularly encouraged to apply, and will be given preference.
