Role Description
Swisstech is hiring a Mid-Senior Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team. You'll help design and build backend services that power secure, scalable, multi-tenant fintech platforms used by financial institutions worldwide.
This role is ideal for someone with solid backend experience who is ready to take on larger systems, deepen their expertise in distributed architectures, and contribute to technical decisions while still being hands-on in implementation.
You'll work closely with senior engineers and architects, owning significant services end-to-end and growing toward more complex system design responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- 35 years of hands-on backend experience building production systems
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proficiency in .NET Core (C#) our primary backend language
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or SQL Server)
- Experience with Redis for caching and queues
- Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
- Familiarity with multi-tenant systems (data isolation, configuration overrides)
- Experience using Docker for local development and deployments (Kubernetes is a plus)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing)
- Strong coding discipline: clean, testable, maintainable code
Nice to have
- Exposure to Go or Rust
- Experience in Fintech, payments, lending, or compliance-driven platforms
- Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault or secure key management
- Background working with event-driven microservices or SaaS platforms
- Interest or experience with KYC/AML, audit, or sensitive data systems
- Previous experience in fast-moving product teams
