We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support lending platforms and financial systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, security, and reliability in a highly regulated production environment. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in MS SQL Server administration and day-to-day production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration & Operations
- Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019 and above) in production environments.
- Perform daily database operations including monitoring, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Manage database backups, restores, and recovery procedures.
Performance & Optimization
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, blocking, and deadlocks.
- Proactively monitor database health and recommend improvements.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
- Implement and manage High Availability / Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions, including:
- AlwaysOn Availability Groups
- Failover clustering
- Replication
- Conduct and validate failover and disaster recovery testing.
Security & Compliance
- Manage database security, roles, permissions, and access controls.
- Implement auditing, encryption, and compliance controls as per regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external security audits.
Release & Production Support
- Support database deployments, upgrades, patching, and version migrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
- Strong expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Experience with HA/DR solutions including AlwaysOn Availability Groups and replication.
- Solid understanding of backup, restore, and recovery strategies.
- Experience supporting financial, lending, or regulated systems.
- Strong production support and troubleshooting skills.
