Job Overview:

The NDT Tech provides solutions to problems in the NDT discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and scientific procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Examine welds/materials by Radiography (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Dye Penetrant (PT) based on code and contractual specifications
  • Determine conformity/non-conformity flaws and report accurately
  • Perform NDT examination of welds and materials by anyone of the following materials and qualifications (i.e., RT, UT, PT, MT) by a written Project NDT plan, NDT Procedures, code, and Contractual Specification
  • Execute the examination by approved NDT procedures and internationally recognized codes/specs.
  • Determine acceptance/rejection based on the defined criteria. The technician shall liaise with the assigned QC inspector to determine the completion of rectification work
  • Report conforming work for rectification; Rectified and inspected by the QC inspector before examination by the original NDT method. The NDT technician shall liaise with the assigned QC inspector to determine the completion of rectification work

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 2+ years of Engineering Degree/ High School Diploma
  • 3+ years in Radiography or ultrasonic
  • ASNT or CSWIP qualification
  • Be occupationally qualified to internationally recognized schemes to determine competency (i.e., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT, etc.) requirements
  • Proficient in assessing examination results accurately, sentencing welds, and reporting same, according to the relevant code/spec acceptance criteria
