Role Overview:
The Network Security Engineer will play a key role in supporting Pay10's expansion into Egypt and strengthening our regional technology operations. The role involves designing, securing, and maintaining our network and security infrastructure across high-availability, mission-critical fintech environments. The engineer will manage firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and drive network automation while ensuring compliance with frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001. They will also support CI/CD and infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Python to enhance operational efficiency. This position is ideal for someone with strong hands-on expertise who can work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Security (Primary Focus)
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, and load balancers.
- Administer and support security platforms such as F5 (LTM/WAF), FortiGate, Palo Alto, NSX, DNS, and VPN technologies.
- Perform periodic vulnerability testing for network and security layers.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing, network failover testing, and business continuity processes.
- Implement and maintain security controls mapped to frameworks such as NIST, ISO27001, and internal policies.
- Maintain documentation for network topology, change management, and operational procedures.
DevOps & Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Support CI/CD and automation activities for network and infrastructure systems.
- Build scripts for automation using Terraform, Ansible, Python, or API-based automation.
- Collaborate with development, systems, and data teams to ensure stable integration and seamless deployment.
- Manage Linux servers (primarily RHEL/AlmaLinux) and troubleshoot OS-level networking issues.
- Develop operational improvements, deployment procedures, and monitoring practices.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across production systems.
- Participate in production support and incident/problem management.
- Maintain monitoring and alerting systems for network and infrastructure layers.
Required Qualifications
- 812 years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Security, or Hybrid Network/DevOps roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Firewalls: FortiGate, Palo Alto
- Load Balancers: F5 LTM/WAF
- Virtualization & Networking: VMware/NSX
- Solid understanding of routing, switching, VPN, DNS, and general network architectures.
- Experience automating infrastructure using Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps lifecycle, CI/CD concepts, and infrastructure automation.
- Good knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL, AlmaLinux, CentOS).
- Ability to work in a small, fast-paced team with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, etc.).
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Certification such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE, or other relevant network/security certifications.
- Exposure to VMware Cloud networking models.
