Job Description

Position Objective:

The Network Specialist Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of enterprise-wide network services. The role involves monitoring, configuring, and maintaining LAN, WAN, Internet, IPVPN, and unified communication systems while providing advanced support and coordination with service providers to ensure seamless operations across the organisation.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Oversee and manage Internet and IPVPN circuits to maintain service uptime.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, and switching environments.
  • Operate and maintain LAN and WAN connections and ensure service quality.
  • Install and configure various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, QoS).
  • Monitor and manage Cisco Unified Communications technologies.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support and advanced troubleshooting for network-related incidents.
  • Manage and support enterprise-wide Wi-Fi networks (access points and controllers).
  • Coordinate with external service providers and third parties to resolve service issues and implement network solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 58 years of proven hands-on experience in network engineering and operations.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise Wi-Fi networks (configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting).
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications technologies.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
