Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Network Performance Monitoring and Analysis Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This senior role requires a leader with a minimum of 5+ years of dedicated experience in architecting, implementing, and optimizing large-scale enterprise network monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage deep expertise in network performance analysis, advanced troubleshooting, and end-to-end network protocol visibility. Expert-level, hands-on knowledge of the SolarWinds suite (NPM, NCM, NTM) is essential, alongside proficiency in integrating and managing other key monitoring platforms like Zabbix, Nagios, and Splunk to drive proactive network health and capacity planning across complex hybrid environments
Role and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the entire SolarWinds platform (NPM, NCM, NTM), driving the platform's lifecycle, upgrades, high availability, and performance tuning.
- Design and implement advanced alerting and correlation rules within SolarWinds and integrated tools to reduce noise, preempt critical issues, and improve Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR).
- Conduct sophisticated network traffic and protocol analysis, utilizing expert-level proficiency with tools like Wireshark and protocol analyzers to dissect packet flows, latency, jitter, and application performance issues.
- Proactively identify and remediate systemic performance bottlenecks and single points of failure before they impact service availability.
- Develop and implement extensive automation scripts using languages like Python and PowerShell to automate routine monitoring tasks, configuration deployments via SolarWinds NCM, compliance reporting, and API integrations with other IT systems.
- Establish and enforce strict network configuration compliance policies using SolarWinds NCM, overseeing automated configuration backups, regular configuration audits, and policy drift remediation across the network footprint.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in network analysis, performance monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting within a large-scale enterprise environment.
