Job Purpose:
The O&M Engineer Street Lighting is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of public lighting systems, including LED luminaires and smart lighting control platforms. This role ensures the optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of street lighting assets by coordinating field activities and supervising technical teams. The engineer will support the O&M Manager in implementing best practices to ensure high infrastructure availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Facility & Infrastructure Oversight:
Support daily corrective and preventive maintenance activities for street lighting infrastructure.
Monitor lighting systems through Central Management Systems (CMS) or smart lighting control platforms.
Supervise the maintenance of LED luminaires, drivers, surge protection devices (SPD), and smart lighting nodes/gateways.
Assist in identifying and resolving causes of failure, including electrical supply issues and communication faults in smart systems.
Team Leadership:
Provide technical supervision to maintenance technicians and electricians in the field.
Coordinate field teams performing luminaire, driver, SPD, and cable replacements.
Ensure all work is performed according to instructions and established safety protocols.
Operational Excellence
Implement preventive maintenance programs, including pole and bracket condition checks and luminaire cleaning.
Participate in site inspections and maintenance verification to ensure operational quality.
Support asset record updates within the maintenance management systems.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance and operational work strictly adheres to safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
Participate in and lead safety briefings and toolbox talks for field staff.
Guarantee the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all site activities.
Monitoring & Reporting
Prepare and update daily work reports, maintenance logs, and fault tracking records.
Report abnormal lighting behavior or communication faults identified through monitoring tools.
