Role SummaryThe Occupational Therapist Specialist is responsible for supporting patients in daily living activities, monitoring behavior, documenting progress, collecting and analyzing treatment data, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients and their families to ensure effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients conditions and needs through interviews, observation, standardized assessments, and review of medical history and records.
- Develop individualized OT treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary team, including measurable goals and tasks.
- Deliver safe and effective OT services under the supervision of the OT Supervisor.
- Demonstrate and follow up on exercises and activities that improve patients performance in daily tasks.
- Educate and train families on how to support and care for the patient at home.
- Ensure continuity of care after discharge by designing home exercise programs and training patients and caregivers.
- Track, document, and report patient progress; adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and collected data.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect facility information and medical records.
- Comply with workplace safety, hygiene, and infection-control policies and procedures.
- Work as a core member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain and enhance clinical knowledge through training and professional associations.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements (Qualifications & Experience)- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university.
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing OT services, with experience integrating behavioral principles and techniques in pediatric intervention.
- Valid professional license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as an Occupational Therapist Specialist.
- Sensory Integration certification is an advantage.
