Officer - QC
LOCATION: Dubai Industrial City
REPORTING To: Executive - QC
ROLE CONTEXT & PURPOSE
As part of a greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing setup, the Officer - QC (Chemical) will be responsible for carrying out routine chemical and physical quality control testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products under the supervision of the Executive - QC. This role is critical in ensuring product quality and compliance with regulatory and internal standards through accurate analytical testing and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical and physical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products as per standard test procedures (STPs) and pharmacopeial standards.
- Operate and calibrate analytical instruments such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR, and dissolution apparatus.
- Accurately document all test results and observations in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Ensure timely sampling and testing to meet production schedules and release timelines.
- Participate in the preparation and standardization of reagents, solutions, and volumetric preparations.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Identify and report any deviations, non-conformities, or out-of-specification (OOS) results to the Executive - QC.
- Assist in method validation and transfer activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP and safety standards during all laboratory operations.
- Participate in internal audits, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE + EXPOSURE + EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences (Diploma holders with relevant experience may also be considered).
- 1-3 years of experience in a Quality Control (Chemical) role in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
Key Skills
- Basic understanding of chemical analysis and instrumental techniques (HPLC, UV, IR).
- Familiarity with pharmacopoeial standards (IP, BP, USP, EP) and cGMP regulations.
- Proficient in handling laboratory glassware and equipment.
- Good observation skills and attention to detail.
