Job Purpose: This role supports and implements research activities that contribute to the project's strategic plan, knowledge production, and dissemination. Responsibilities vary from identifying research priorities to conducting research. They also include co-authoring and authoring research outputs, mentoring fellows, interns and research assistants, and co-organizing and participating in outreach events. These tasks aim to prepare the researcher to
eventually lead research projects, which entails supervising staff and the planning and conduct of research.
Core Responsibilities:
Research and Knowledge Production:
Conduct data collection and analysis
Develop and write research outputs including policy papers, reports, articles, and commentaries
Present and disseminate research findings at academic conferences, seminars, and project events
Ensure quality, relevance, and timeliness of research deliverables
Outreach and Dissemination:
Contribute to the implementation of outreach activities such as public lectures, workshops, and
training sessions
Collaborate with outreach teams to promote and disseminate research publications
Represent the project at local, regional, and international forums
Project and Administrative Support:
Provide research and logistical support for academic and outreach activities
Contribute to planning and coordination of events, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives
Support project reporting, documentation, and compliance with academic standards
Research Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with peers, faculty, and staff in research initiatives
Mentor and support junior staff, interns, or research assistants
General Support:
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
BA in a relevant field, MA or MSc are preferred
Seven years of experience, with strong research record
Skills:
Advanced research methods and conference presentations
Research design and academic writing
