Job Purpose:
The O&M Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of solar PV power systems, ensuring high system availability, performance, and compliance with HSE standards. The role involves supervising technicians, troubleshooting technical issues, analyzing system performance, and supporting commissioning and upgrades. Knowledge of diesel generators and hybrid systems is considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and supervise all maintenance (routine, preventive, corrective) for solar PV systems (DC/AC, inverters, transformers).
- Monitor plant performance (PR, availability) to identify and troubleshoot faults, minimizing downtime.
- Enforce HSE and electrical safety compliance.
- Lead site technicians and subcontractors.
- Maintain technical reports, fault logs, and performance summaries.
- Manage spare parts inventory.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major failures and implement solutions.
- Support commissioning and inspections for new upgrades.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- (Plus) Assist with diesel generator and hybrid system maintenance when needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
- 02 years of O&M experience (solar PV, power, or industrial plants).
- Solid understanding of solar PV systems (on-grid/off-grid/hybrid).
- Basic knowledge of electrical protection, inverters, and LV/MV troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with HSE standards.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work on-site.
Note: Experience with diesel generators, microgrids, or hybrid PV-diesel systems is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
