Position Summary
As part of a
greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing setup, the
Operator - Tablet Secondary plays a key role in handling
tablet packaging, labeling, and inspection while ensuring compliance with
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will be responsible for
operating, monitoring, and maintaining secondary packaging equipment, ensuring proper documentation, and working collaboratively to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor tablet packaging machines including blistering, bottling, labeling, and cartoning equipment.
- Perform line clearance, machine setup, and changeovers between different products and batch runs.
- Ensure proper batch coding, serialization, labeling, and packaging as per GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct in-process quality checks for packaging integrity, labeling accuracy, and correct documentation.
- Maintain batch manufacturing records (BMR), logbooks, and process documentation as per regulatory compliance.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and GMP at all times.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless production.
- Identify and report any deviations, defects, or machine malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of machines and work areas between batches.
- Adhere to safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental health & safety (EHS) guidelines.
- Participate in audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work towards minimizing wastage, improving efficiency, and optimizing secondary packaging operations.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE + EXPOSURE + EDUCATION
- Education: High school diploma / ITI / Diploma in Pharmaceutical, Mechanical, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in tablet secondary packaging operations in a pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.
Key Skills
- Hands-on experience with blister packaging, bottle packaging, cartoning, and labeling machines.
- Strong understanding of GMP, SOPs, GDP, and regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with automated and semi-automated packaging equipment.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for packaging line issues.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
