Position description:
Full-time faculty to actively participate in students supervision, teaching, research, and clinical training.
Essential Selection Criteria:
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
- A PhD or equivalent qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with certification from a recognized professional body (e.g. American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or Royal Colleges in the UK, Canada or Australia).
- A specialist dental qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery*
- Proven experience in postgraduate teaching, research, and clinical practice appropriate to the academic rank.
- Demonstrated clinical excellence and up-to-date knowledge of contemporary practices and advancements in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Evidence of academic leadership and contribution at a senior administrative or program level.
- A strong and sustained research profile in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including peer-reviewed publications.
- Active engagement with the international academic and professional community.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and deliver high-quality didactic, research and clinical components of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery curriculum in line with national and international standards.
- Design, coordinate and review courses, including learning outcomes, syllabi, competencies, and assessment strategies, in accordance with HBMCDM academic policies.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice HBMCDM's clinical standards.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the College's strategic priorities, including securing competitive research funding and publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise postgraduate research projects and contribute to scholarly development of postgraduate students.
- Participate actively in department activities, college committees, and task forces.
- Contribute to accreditation processes and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage with the wider professional, clinical, and academic community.
- Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in line with MBRU's mission and values.
* Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for registration as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialist/consultant with the Dubai Health Authority. Applicants who do not meet DHA eligibility criteria will not be considered. Further information is available via the DHA website
