The Painter is responsible for executing all painting-related tasks, including interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, structures, fixtures, and equipment. The role ensures proper surface preparation, selection of appropriate materials, and adherence to safety standards while delivering high-quality finishing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate estimates for required time, materials, and cost, and advise supervisors as needed.
- Coordinate with the Procurement team to source required materials.
- Conduct on-site preparations including erecting scaffolding, protecting fixtures, and preparing work areas.
- Prepare walls and surfaces by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, and performing necessary repairs.
- Fill cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections using appropriate materials such as plaster or filler.
- Mix paints, coatings, and finishes to achieve desired color and texture.
- Apply paint and other finishes using various tools such as brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Apply varnish, sealants, and other protective coatings when required.
- Ensure compliance with ADA procedures, memos, and company policies.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and relevant regulatory requirements as per the Company Safety Management System.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as reasonably assigned by the supervisor.
Experience and Profile Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Proven experience as a professional painter (commercial, industrial, or construction painting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of various paint types, materials, coatings, and application methods.
- Skilled in using painting tools (brushes, rollers, sprayers, caulking guns, sanders, ladders, scaffolding).
- Understanding of surface preparation and repair techniques.
- Knowledge of commercial and construction painting practices and standards.
- Knowledge to mix paints and match colors and textures.
