Current Hiring: Pastry Chef

We are seeking a Highly-skilled Pastry Chef is a culinary professional who specializes in creating a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. They are responsible for designing, preparing, and presenting these items in a visually appealing and delicious manner.

Job Summary:

A Pastry chef is responsible for the creation, preparation, and presentation of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. They must possess extensive knowledge of baking techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to innovate and develop new pastry recipes. The pastry chef works closely with the kitchen team to ensure high-quality desserts are consistently delivered to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recipe Development: Create and develop new pastry recipes, keeping up with current culinary trends and customer preferences. Adapt traditional recipes to create unique and signature pastries for the establishment.
  • Production: Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, including cakes, tarts, cookies, bread, and other desserts, in accordance with established recipes and techniques.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality, taste, and presentation for all pastries. Conduct regular taste tests and visual inspections to ensure consistency.
  • Ingredient Management: Manage and maintain an inventory of pastry ingredients, including sourcing and ordering supplies, monitoring freshness, and minimizing waste.
  • Decoration: Skillfully decorate and garnish pastries and desserts, paying attention to detail, presentation, and artistic design.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the kitchen staff to coordinate dessert service with the overall menu and ensure timely delivery of pastries to customers.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with the head chef or restaurant manager to create and update the pastry menu, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times. Ensure compliance with health department regulations.
  • Training and Supervision: Train and supervise junior pastry chefs, bakers, and assistants, providing guidance and mentoring to develop their skills.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control food costs by managing portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing ingredient usage.
  • Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to describe and recommend desserts, address special requests or dietary restrictions, and gather feedback.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience working as a pastry chef or baker in a professional kitchen, with a proven track record of creating high-quality pastries.
  • Strong creativity and the ability to innovate and create new pastry recipes and designs.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential for the presentation of pastries and desserts.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and occasionally interacting with customers.

Salary Range: Starting at AED 6,000.00
