Role Overview:
This role combines advanced pattern creation expertise with strong production oversight and quality assurance. The candidate will work as a key link between the designer and production teams, ensuring that all garments are produced accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and develop accurate patterns and samples based on the designer's sketches.
- Perform pattern cutting, draping, adaptation, and transformation of garments.
- Ensure pattern development considers production limitations and finishing requirements, proposing technical and upgrading solutions where needed.
- Research technical solutions for various designs and fabrics to ensure optimal structure and fit.
- Supervise and motivate the team in daily tasks such as patternmaking, sewing, cutting, and finishing.
- Prepare production tasks for tailors for the following day, ensuring correct materials and plans are in place.
- Review and maintain quality standards for all pieces including stitching, sizing, finishing, draping, and overall appearance.
- Identify and immediately address quality issues, providing feedback and corrective guidance to the production team.
- Conduct audits of fabric rolls, raw materials, and newly received shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare lists of pending items, missing materials, and return verifications.
- Operate cutting equipment and tools efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate and organized catalogues of materials, fabrics, accessories, swatches, prototypes, and samples.
- Assist in assembling catalogues and providing proper dress and sample data when required.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure alignment with the creative vision and mood boards.
- Liaise continuously between the designer and production teams to manage workflow and deadlines.
- Keep strong awareness of urgent orders, ensuring timely packing and dispatch, reporting any obstacles or damages immediately.
- Work independently when needed, but also demonstrate strong team leadership and coordination abilities.
- Meet deadlines with a structured, methodical working style and flexibility to work longer hours when required.
