Payroll Officer

Hays is partnering with a diversified group in Qatar, which is looking to appoint a Payroll Officer to join its centralised payroll function.

Role Overview

This position sits within a newly centralised payroll structure supporting approximately 2426 entities under the holding company. The successful candidate will assist the Payroll Team Leader in processing salaries across multiple subsidiaries spanning construction, trading, services, security, oil & gas, facilities management, and other business verticals.

This is an additional headcount within the team, working alongside one other Payroll Officer, supporting payroll operations across the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll across multiple group entities
• Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, deductions, and statutory requirements
• Support the Payroll Team Leader with group-wide payroll consolidation
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with Qatar labour regulations
• Coordinate with HR and Finance teams across subsidiaries
• Assist with payroll system enhancements and reporting requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (mandatory)
• Minimum 7 years of payroll experience
• Strong experience within construction (highly preferred), trading, or similar sectors
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle
• MS Dynamics experience is an advantage
• Strong understanding of Qatar payroll regulations
• Candidates currently based in Qatar are preferred; applicants outside Qatar must have prior Qatar payroll experience and be eligible for a work visa under local regulations
