Reporting to the Rehabilitation Manager / Senior Manager - Physiotherapy, the Physiotherapist II is responsible for assessing patients referred for physiotherapy, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress to achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes. The role requires strong clinical expertise, patient-centered care delivery, and compliance with DOH/DHA regulations and organizational standards.

The Physiotherapist will operate within their defined scope of practice, apply evidence-based techniques, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret referrals and conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including clinical evaluation and problem identification.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on patient needs and progress.
  • Define patient-centered goals and educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Monitor patient response using standardized outcome measures and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Ensure patient safety through ongoing risk assessments during therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient progress in line with regulatory and billing requirements.
  • Ensure administrative tasks related to patient care (documentation, insurance submissions, billing) are completed as per policy.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to optimize patient care and ensure appropriate equipment and resource utilization.
  • Promote patient self-management, health education, and overall well-being.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy / Physical Therapy
  • OR MSc in Physiotherapy from a recognized program.
  • Minimum 3 years of continuous post-qualification experience in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
  • Valid DOH/DHA License (or eligibility) as per regulatory requirements.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Experience working in a JCI-accredited hospital or medical environment.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in musculoskeletal, neurological, paediatric, and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation.
  • Certification in Shroth and Bobath.

Preferred:

  • Recognized specialty certification aligned with DOH/DHA guidelines.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary rehabilitation settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in a multicultural healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
