We are seeking a detail-oriented Pipeline Engineer to design, develop, and maintain safe and efficient pipeline systems for [Oil & Gas / Water / Hydrogen] transport. With min. 3 years of industry experience, he will bridge the gap between initial conceptual design and final construction, ensuring all technical specifications and safety codes (such as ASME B31.4/B31.8) are strictly followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering: Perform wall thickness calculations, and stress analysis for buried and above-ground pipelines.
Routing & Alignment: Assist in selecting optimal pipeline routes by evaluating environmental constraints, terrain, and existing infrastructure.
Technical Documentation: Prepare Alignment Sheets, and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs meet federal and local regulations (e.g., PHMSA, ASME, or API standards). Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reviews.
Procurement Support: Draft technical specifications for the purchase of pipes, valves, pumps, and fittings; review vendor bids for technical accuracy.
Field Support: Provide engineering support during the construction and commissioning phases, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) from the field.
Soft Skills for Success:
Problem Solving: The ability to find creative routing solutions when geographical or legal blockers arise.
Communication: Clearly explaining technical constraints to non-engineering stakeholders (landowners, environmental teams).
Adaptability: Comfortable shifting between high-level office design and hands-on site visits
Required education: Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical) with Piping design experience in O&G is a must.
Required experience:3 years in pipeline design, preferably with exposure to both FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering in Oil & Gas industry
Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, CAESAR II (Stress Analysis).
Codes: Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.4, B31.8, and API 5L.
