Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Merchandising & Planning Manager to lead merchandise planning, sales forecasting, and inventory optimization within a fast-paced fashion retail environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep fashion industry knowledge, and the ability to work closely with senior leadership and retail teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute competitive merchandise plans based on sales data, market trends, and competition
- Prepare seasonal merchandise plans aligned with sales targets and business objectives
- Monitor product performance, identify potential stock shortages or overstock, and align with shipment schedules
- Review sales performance regularly and provide actionable recommendations to improve results
- Develop and implement effective pricing strategies
- Prepare yearly and quarterly sales forecasts and projections
- Analyze slow- and fast-moving items and recommend pricing or liquidation actions
- Manage special offers, promotions, and liquidation plans
- Conduct periodic showroom visits to gather product feedback and resolve merchandise-related issues
- Attend meetings with VPs and senior management to understand strategic plans and communicate outcomes to relevant teams
- Act as the main point of contact for all product-related queries
- Manage monthly sales reports, evaluate stock levels, define action plans, and generate reorders
- Stay updated on fashion industry trends and share insights with retail merchandisers
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports
- Plan shipments based on seasonal requirements
- Prepare invoices, packing lists, and related shipping documentation
- Take responsibility for one dedicated overseas country or region
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within merchandising, planning, or category management
- 510 additional years of experience in retail fashion merchandising and planning
- Strong expertise in merchandise planning, sales forecasting, and inventory management
- Proven experience in pricing strategy development and managing slow- and fast-moving stock
- Hands-on experience with seasonal planning, shipment planning, and sales performance analysis
- Strong understanding of fashion trends and the ability to collaborate with retail teams and senior stakeholders
- Experience handling reports, reorders, and overseas market or supplier coordination
