Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in fit-out projects across commercial and high-end residential sectors. The role requires full-cycle planning capability covering pre-contract tender planning through to post-contract execution, monitoring, and control.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract (Tender Stage)
- Prepare baseline programs using Primavera P6 / MS Project for tender submissions
- Develop detailed construction methodologies, sequencing, and logistics plans
- Conduct resource and cost-loaded planning aligned with BOQs and tender strategy
- Identify critical path activities, risks, and constraints
- Support commercial team with time-related preliminaries and tender clarifications
- Participate in value engineering and alternative planning strategies
Post-Contract (Execution Stage)
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (Level 3/4)
- Track progress against baseline and produce weekly/monthly reports
- Monitor critical path and float consumption, recommend mitigation strategies
- Prepare and update look-ahead programs (2-week / 4-week)
- Coordinate with site, design, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure alignment
- Support EOT (Extension of Time) claims, delay analysis, and recovery programs
- Ensure integration of procurement schedules, shop drawings, and approvals
- Conduct earned value analysis (EVA) where applicable
Project Exposure Required
- Commercial fit-out: offices, retail, F&B, hospitality
- Residential fit-out: high-end villas, luxury apartments
- Experience working with fast-track interior fit-out projects in UAE/GCC
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management
- 5–10+ years experience in planning, with majority in fit-out projects
- Proven experience in both pre-contract and post-contract planning
- Strong proficiency in:
- Primavera P6 (essential)
- MS Project
- Excel (advanced reporting)
- Solid understanding of:
- UAE construction practices
- Fit-out sequencing and coordination challenges
- Experience in delay analysis, EOT claims, and recovery planning
- Strong communication skills – able to interface with consultants, clients, and internal teams
