Role Purpose
Estimate a timescale for a project and to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met. Work closely with site managers and other engineers to ensure a project runs on schedule and material supplies are sufficient.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist the Planning Manager in developing the basic overall construction schedule into a fully detailed one, and prepare amendments and alternatives to it during the course of construction, to meet or improve on project target.
- Prepare reports as required by the Planning Manager on all aspects of the project, including the issuance of weekly, monthly reports to monitor work progress.
- Monitors project schedule and budget during construction through site visits and report updates to Sr. Planning Engineer / Planning Manager.
- Perform logic network planning using Critical Path Method for the development of all plans and schedules.
- Prepare the project's baseline schedule and critical paths analysis three weeks look ahead schedule according to internal standards, technical and contractual requirement.
- Review the project's baseline schedule/ three weeks look ahead schedule with the Project Manager and Project Planning Manager for final approval.
- Monitor the implementation of the schedule and three weeks ahead of schedules (including the progress of execution, the subcontractors work, the shop drawings, materials submissions and follow-up on procurement activities as well as the provision and use of resources).
- Point out and analyse any identified delays/discrepancies, propose appropriate solutions to prevent exceeding the project completion date .
- Participate in the development of the commissioning plan into a fully detailed schedule outlining resources and system completion strategy with the operations team.
- Monitor the Sub-contractors performance to assure that they meet project overall performance requirements.
- Progress report to all key stakeholders involved in the project as required.
- Coordinate with the Senior Planning Engineer and the contracts engineer to produce the notice of delays/claims
- Ensure that all established HSE & Quality policies are administered and enforced in all areas.
- Report all violations and resolved on time
- Effective implementation of HSE Management system as per HSE procedures
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering field.
- 5+ years experience in the domain of project management, project control, planning, and estimation, budgeting and cost control.
- Industry Certifications in Project Management preferred
- Excellent knowledge in planning/cost control techniques, methods, systems, standards and software.
- Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, externally and internally.
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize under tough deadlines and high pressure situations.
Flexibility in order to adapt to varying and changing demands.
