Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Planning Engineer to join our team! In this role you will execute and maintain integrated project schedules, control baselines, perform critical path and whatif analyses, and deliver clear schedule insights that drive ontime delivery across complex, multidisciplinary projects.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain Level 14 schedules and updates to the Integrated Master Schedule in Primavera P6.
  • Build robust logic, calendars, and coding structures; align interfaces across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.
  • Establish and control schedule baselines; perform regular updates, progress measurement, and variance/trend analysis.
  • Conduct critical and nearcritical path analysis; run whatif scenarios; recommend recovery/acceleration strategies.
  • Prepare resourceloaded schedules; perform resource analysis and leveling; identify bottlenecks and coordinate resolutions with discipline leads.
  • Support schedule risk assessments; document assumptions, quantify potential impacts, and track mitigations.
  • Prepare and support time impact analyses for approved changes and identified delays; contribute to claims documentation as needed.
  • Produce clear dashboards and reporting for project leadership and clients; facilitate schedule reviews and lookahead planning.
  • Mentor junior planners and support continuous improvement of tools, templates, and procedures.

What Required Skills You'll Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 710 years of progressive planning/scheduling experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6; working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Strong command of CPM scheduling, baseline control, progress measurement, and variance/trend analysis.
  • Experience with resourceloaded scheduling and crossfunctional coordination.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring


  • Professional certifications such as PMISP, AACE PSP, PMP (or equivalent).
  • Experience with schedule quality and risk tools (e.g., Deltek Acumen Fuse/Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis).
  • Familiarity with DCMA 14Point Assessment and AACE Recommended Practices.
  • Background supporting time impact analyses, delay analysis, and claims in EPC/DesignBuild environments.
  • Power BI/Tableau skills for schedule dashboards; data modeling/SQL familiarity is a plus.
