Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Planner with specialized experience in contract-based project environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules and cost plans, ensuring they fully reflect contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables. Experience in mitigating risk, supporting claims analysis, and providing strategic insights to ensure projects are delivered on time and within contractual boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project) for all phases of projects, from tender to close-out.
  • Analyse contract documents (Scope of Work, Terms & Conditions, Milestone Schedules) to extract and integrate all schedule-related obligations into the baseline plan.
  • Monitor project progress, perform critical path analysis, and identify potential delays or deviations from the contractual baseline.
  • Prepare detailed time-impact analyses and extension of time (EOT) claims, providing robust schedule forensic support for contractual negotiations.
  • Develop and update resource-loaded schedules and cost-loaded schedules where required by contract.
  • Produce and present clear, concise planning reports (weekly/monthly) for internal management and external clients, highlighting progress, risks, and compliance with contractual milestones.
  • Liaise with project managers, commercial teams, and site engineers to validate progress and incorporate changes or variations into the schedule.
  • Participate in contract review meetings, providing planning expertise on scheduling implications of change orders and variations.
  • Maintain meticulous records of schedule updates, progress reports, and correspondence to support contractual integrity and potential dispute resolution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience as a Planner, specifically within contracting, construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience in contractual planning, including baseline development aligned with contract documents, delay analysis methodologies (Time Impact, Windows), and claims preparation.
  • Essential: High proficiency in industry-standard planning software, particularly Oracle Primavera P6. Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of project controls principles, Earned Value Management (EVM), and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Excellent knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT) and their implications for scheduling and progress measurement.
