Job Description

Job Title: Planning & Office Engineer (MEP)

Industry: Construction & Infrastructure (Electrical & Mechanical Works)

Location: Project Site / Head Office

Job Purpose:

  • To support project management by handling planning, scheduling, and technical office activities for Electrical and Mechanical (MEP) works, ensuring effective coordination, timely execution, and compliance with approved schedules, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Track site progress and compare actual performance against the approved baseline program.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and delay analysis reports.
  • Coordinate with site teams and the Technical Office to ensure alignment with construction plans.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of RFIs, technical correspondences, and project documentation.
  • Review shop drawings and ensure their availability in line with the construction schedule.
  • Support resource planning, procurement schedules, and manpower deployment.
  • Coordinate with consultants and clients regarding planning updates and reporting.
  • Maintain organized records of planning data, reports, and technical documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of construction planning principles and MEP systems.

Experience:

  • 37 years of experience in planning or technical office roles within MEP construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in large-scale or government infrastructure projects is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience with FIDIC contracts.

Exposure to mega projects such as tunnels, airports, or major infrastructure developments.
