Aura is establishing a new multi-asset absolute return fund domiciled in Singapore and is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to lead the mandate from inception. The successful candidate will help shape the investment process, portfolio construction and client engagement approach for the fund from launch, working within a firm serving a sophisticated wholesale, accredited and institutional investor base.
As Portfolio Manager, you will hold true end-to-end responsibility for the investment process - from sourcing and originating opportunities, through analysis, due diligence, and execution, to ongoing monitoring, risk management, across public and private markets, spanning both manager selection and direct investing. Capital raising is a core component of the role: you will act as the primary investment voice of the fund with prospective and existing investors.
The successful candidate will be expected to grow with the fund and contribute to building the investment processes, risk systems, and team required as the strategy scales.
The Key Responsibilities for this role include the following:
Portfolio Management
Design, implement, and manage a multi-asset absolute return portfolio in accordance with the fund's mandate, risk parameters, and return objectives, as approved by the Investment Committee.
Lead portfolio construction and asset allocation across a broad opportunity set, including hedge fund strategies, equities manager strategies, direct equities, uncorrelated and alternative strategies, private credit and direct lending, traditional fixed income, and derivatives (for both alpha generation and hedging).
Own the full investment lifecycle: originate and source opportunities conduct fundamental analysis and due diligence, structure and execute investments, and manage positions through to realization or exit.
Conduct manager selection and ongoing monitoring: sourcing, due diligence, allocation sizing, and redemption decisions across external managers and funds.
Maintain a robust risk management framework covering market, asset, liquidity, and counterparty risk, with particular attention to correlation dynamics and drawdown control consistent with an absolute return objective.
Client Engagement & Capital Raising
Serve as the primary investment representative of the fund to UHNW clients, family offices, and their advisers.
Ability to lead capital raising efforts: articulate the fund's investment philosophy, process, and positioning to prospective investors with clarity and credibility.
Manage ongoing client communications, including performance reviews, market commentary, and portfolio positioning updates, in a manner consistent with Aura Group's marketing compliance requirements.
Risk Systems & Investment Infrastructure
Develop and maintain the fund's internal risk systems relating to the investment process, including exposure monitoring, position and liquidity risk tools, correlation and drawdown analytics, and pre-trade risk checks.
Build institutional-quality investment processes and systems from launch, designed to remain robust as the fund scales.
Continuously refine analytics supporting portfolio construction, risk budgeting, and investment decision-making.
Leadership & Governance
Contribute to the build-out of the investment team and firm infrastructure as the fund scales.
Uphold the highest standards of fiduciary conduct, compliance, and governance, working closely with compliance, operations, and service providers.
The Key Requirements for this role include the following:
Minimum 8-10 years of investing experience across multi-asset portfolios, with demonstrable experience spanning: manager selection hedge fund strategies equities manager strategies direct equities uncorrelated strategies private credit direct lending traditional fixed income derivatives and portfolio construction.
A track record of managing capital against an absolute return or similar total-return objective, with sound judgment on risk, sizing, and liquidity.
Demonstrated end-to-end deal experience: sourcing and originating opportunities, leading analysis and due diligence, executing transactions, and managing investments through their full lifecycle.
Substantial experience managing and communicating with UHNW clients, with the professionalism and discretion this client base demands.
Experience developing and maintaining risk systems and analytics that support the investment process, such as exposure monitoring, attribution, and portfolio risk tools.
Demonstrated ability, or clear aptitude, for raising capital from private wealth investors.
Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities fluency with portfolio and risk analytics tools.
Impeccable integrity and professional standing the candidate must satisfy the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) fit and proper criteria and be eligible for appointment as a representative under the Securities and Futures Act, including completion of applicable CMFAS examinations.
A genuine long-term orientation: the firm is seeking a candidate who intends to build a career with the fund and lead its growth.
CFA and/or CAIA designation preferred.
Fluency in Mandarin preferred, to support engagement with regional clients.
Degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline postgraduate qualifications advantageous.
