- Full-time.
- Work days: Sunday Thursday.
- Working hours: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Role Summary
As an English Teacher at BeCurious Preschool, you will create a warm, stimulating, and safe learning environment where children aged 15 years can explore and acquire foundational English language skills. You will deliver the Finnishinspired preschool curriculum, using play, stories, songs, and handson activities, while supporting the holistic development of each child.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement ageappropriate, engaging English lessons in line with the BeCurious / Finnish curriculum.
- Use song, storytelling, games, creative arts, and movement to teach vocabulary, simple phrases, greetings, colors, numbers, etc.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and curious.
- Maintain classroom management, ensure routines (snack, rest, free play, cleanup) are followed.
- Prepare and maintain teaching materials: flashcards, visual aids, books, and manipulatives.
- Communicate with parents about their child's progress, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Collaborate with coteachers, assistants, and the curriculum/curriculum manager to align teaching practices.
- Ensure all safety, health, and preschool policies are followed.
- Observe and assess individual children's progress in language development, and adjust instruction accordingly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, English, TESOL/TEFL, Child Development, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience teaching preschool / early childhood (ages 15), preferably teaching English.
- Strong command of English (both spoken and written); ability to speak clearly and be easily understood by young learners.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn and implement playbased, childcentered methodologies (like the Finnish approach).
- Patience, creativity, energy, and a genuine love for working with young children. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with children, parents, and colleagues.
