Our client is a major petrochemical operation known for producing high‑quality chemicals, plastics, and industrial materials used around the world. It operates large, integrated plants and plays a vital role in supplying key sectors like manufacturing, construction, and consumer products.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate process safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA), including scope definition, node selection, documentation, and action closure.
- Ensure process safety is embedded across PDP, FEED, and DEP phases, applying inherently safer design principles and safeguarding hierarchy.
- Review and validate relief, flare, overpressure, and hazardous area concepts in line with API 521 and international standards.
- Develop and review Process Safety Design Philosophy and verify protection layers (instrumented, procedural, mechanical).
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and reviewing licensor/vendor deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Formal training or certification in Process Safety is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical processing environments.
- Proven hands‑on experience delivering projects across PDP, FEED, and DEP phases is required.
