Procurement Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilites:
- Source electrical products from local or international suppliers.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, capacity, and lead time.
- Request and analyze quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Prepare and follow up on Purchase Orders in accordance with approved procurement procedures.
- Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Logistics to ensure purchasing decisions meet business requirements.
- Monitor supplier confirmations, production schedules, shipment status, and delivery dates.
- Follow up on international purchasing and import requirements, including shipping and required documentation.
- Analyze market prices, product availability, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Ensure purchased products comply with approved specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, quotations, and commercial documents.
- Monitor supplier performance and address delays, shortages, quality issues, and discrepancies.
- Support inventory planning by coordinating purchasing activities with stock levels, demand, and sales requirements.
- Review slow-moving and non-moving items and coordinate with relevant departments to minimize excess inventory.
- Negotiate and maintain favorable commercial agreements with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key local and international suppliers.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and identify alternative products or suppliers when required.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approval processes, and internal controls.
- Provide regular procurement reports covering open POs, pending deliveries, supplier performance, and purchasing status.
- Support the introduction of new products and suppliers based on market and customer requirements.
- Perform other procurement-related duties assigned by management.
Qulifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably within the electrical industry.
- Good understanding of electrical products, components, and technical specifications.
- Good negotiation and supplier-management skills.
- Good command of English, especially business communication.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
