About the Role Procurement Engineer (Civil | Ordering ID Finishes)
The Procurement Engineer Civil (Ordering | ID Finishes) plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of interior finishing materials for multiple projects. This role requires deep technical knowledge of ID finishes, strong coordination with project and design teams, and hands-on expertise in global sourcing, ordering, and delivery management.
You will be responsible for translating BOQs and drawings into precise procurement actions while maintaining quality, budget control, and adherence to project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement and ordering of interior design (ID) finishes for projects across multiple locations
- Procure materials related to interior fit-out works, including tiles, marble, stone, woodwork, joinery, glass, paint, sanitary ware, fittings, and hardware
- Review BOQs, drawings, specifications, and approved material submittals prior to order placement
- Prepare, process, and track Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs)
- Coordinate closely with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and design teams to align procurement activities with construction schedules
- Source, evaluate, and finalize approved vendors and global suppliers
- Obtain quotations, conduct technical and commercial comparisons, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms
- Monitor order status, logistics, deliveries, and material handover to project sites
- Ensure materials comply with approved samples, quality standards, and project specifications
- Track procurement costs and support budget control and cost optimization initiatives
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, records, and reports
- Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and audit requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 510 years of experience in civil procurement and ordering, with strong exposure to ID finishes
- Mandatory experience working with construction or interior fit-out companies
- Proven experience in handling UAE / GCC construction projects (preferred)
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of civil construction materials and interior finishing works
- Ability to accurately interpret BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications
- Hands-on experience in vendor sourcing, supplier evaluation, and price negotiation
- Familiarity with ERP / procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and stakeholder communication skills
- High attention to detail with a cost-conscious and quality-driven mindset
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Candidates with immediate or short notice periods are preferred
