Job Description

Our client is seeking for a Procurement Manager with strong technical marine knowledge to support our procurement operations. It is a fast-growing shipping company headquartered in Dubai, with operations across Europe and Asia. They specialize on the transportation of crude and petroleum products.

The ideal candidate will have prior industry experience and a solid understanding of vessel systems, spare parts, and industry procurement practices. This role will support daily purchasing activities, vendor management, cost optimization, and alignment with technical and operational teams.

Key responsibilities and objectives:

  • Manage day-to-day procurement activities for technical supplies, spare parts, and services required for the fleet
  • Coordinate with technical and fleet teams to understand purchasing needs and specifications
  • Evaluate vendor offers, and support vendor selection based on quality, price, and delivery timelines
  • Assist in developing procurement plans and budgets aligned with technical requirements
  • Monitor procurement performance, pricing trends, and maintain cost-effective sourcing practices
  • Ensure timely delivery of critical items to vessels and maintain minimum disruption in operations
  • Maintain records, PO tracking, vendor evaluations, and support internal reporting
  • Liaise with third-party technical managers to ensure procurement aligns with company standards and budget expectations
  • Assist in contract management and negotiations with suppliers under the guidance of senior procurement leadership
  • Monitor compliance with internal procurement policies, classification rules, and safety standards
  • Attend any major escalations of procurement operational issues.
  • Ensure that the set KPIs are achieved by the procurement team.
  • Monitor procurement planning for any major repairs/dry dockings/ Retrofit arrangements/ Bulk procurement requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field would be preferred.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchasing within the maritime industry
  • Prior sailing or technical fleet background is a strong advantage
  • Good understanding of vessel equipment, marine spare parts, and procurement processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with procurement systems or ERP software is a plu
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a solution-driven mindset
  • People management skills required
  • Fluent Russian speaking
