The Procurement Packaging Section Head will lead the sourcing, procurement, and management of all packaging materials for our food and beverage production. This role is pivotal in ensuring that packaging meets quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness standards to support our high-volume operations. To lead the procurement of all packaging materials (bags, cartons, labels, stretch film, pallets) ensuring availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness to support production and export requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Packaging Procurement Planning and Management:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for packaging categories.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance and monitor deliveries and resolve supply issues.
- Operational Procurement:
- Oversee the daily procurement activities for packaging, ensuring POs are raised based on MRP requirements.
- Provide regular procurement status updates.
- Ensure packaging materials meet quality and food safety standards.
- Cost Management:
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
- Track and report on cost savings initiatives.
- Quality Coordination:
- Work with quality to ensure packaging materials meet specifications, and resolve quality issues.
- Plan and manage procurement of all packaging materials for factory and export needs.
- Ensure availability aligned with production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and corrective actions, and evaluate packaging based on quality and compliance.
- Team Supervision:
- Supervise a team of Packaging Procurement Supervisors.
- Ensure segregation of duties within the team.
REQUIREMENTS- 8+ years in procurement, with significant packaging experience.
- 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- 1+ years in FMCG projects is preferred. (Experience in procurement of packaging materials for food manufacturing)
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Supply Chain, Engineering, Packaging Technology, or Business Administration).
- MBA is preferred. Professional certifications (CIPS, CPIM, PMP) are an advantage.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and printing processes, and ability to evaluate packaging suppliers for quality, compliance, and cost.
