Job Description

Job Title: Product Owner Artificial Intelligence

Location: Dubai

Role Overview

The AI Product Owner will lead the end-to-end ownership of AI-enabled products, from shaping strategy through to execution and value realization. The role sits at the intersection of business, data science, and engineering, ensuring AI initiatives are commercially relevant, scalable, and responsibly deployed.

This position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, ideally suited to someone with experience in management consulting and/or high-growth AI or technology environments who can operate effectively in a complex enterprise setting.

Key Responsibilities

AI Product Vision & Strategy

  • Establish and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI products in line with enterprise priorities and the bank's AI agenda.
  • Convert business problems and opportunities into clearly defined AI product requirements.
  • Prioritise initiatives and features based on business impact, feasibility, and risk considerations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and advancements in AI to guide product direction.

Product Backlog & Delivery Execution

  • Take full ownership of the product backlog, ensuring items are well-defined, prioritised, and aligned to sprint objectives.
  • Work closely with engineering and data science teams to deliver AI capabilities on time and to expected quality standards.
  • Define success criteria and ensure delivered solutions meet agreed business outcomes.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Align senior stakeholders on priorities, scope, and delivery timelines.
  • Clearly articulate product vision, progress, and results to leadership and cross-functional audiences.
  • Lead workshops, showcases, and demos to collect feedback and support adoption.

Governance, Risk & Responsible AI

  • Ensure AI products adhere to internal policies, regulatory standards, and responsible AI principles.
  • Partner with Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to embed controls related to transparency, fairness, explainability, and data usage.

Performance Measurement & Value Delivery

  • Define KPIs and success measures to track adoption, performance, and business value.
  • Use data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement and optimisation of AI solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with a minimum of 3 years working on AI/ML or data-led products, or
  • Background in management consulting with exposure to strategy development, operating models, or large-scale transformation initiatives, or
  • Experience within AI, fintech, or emerging technology startups, demonstrating adaptability and an innovation-led mindset.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Solid understanding of AI and machine learning fundamentals, model lifecycles, and data platforms.
  • Strong experience working in Agile environments, including backlog management and delivery tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Awareness of AI governance frameworks, regulatory expectations, and ethical AI considerations.
