Position Overview:

The Furniture Production Planner is responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient use of resources to meet delivery deadlines. This role involves working closely with the production, procurement, and sales teams to optimize production flow, reduce lead times, and maintain a steady supply of materials to meet customer demands. The Production Planner must balance production efficiency with cost management and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Scheduling and Planning:

Develop and oversee production schedules based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and inventory levels.

Ensure that production schedules are optimized to maximize efficiency and meet delivery timelines.

Adjust plans as needed to accommodate changes in demand, equipment downtime, or material shortages.

2. Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring adequate stock without overages.

Coordinate with procurement to order materials in a timely manner to avoid production delays.

Conduct regular inventory audits and implement cycle counting to maintain accurate records.

3. Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams:

Work closely with production, procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure alignment and efficient resource utilization.

Communicate with the sales team to understand demand trends and update production plans accordingly.

Provide regular updates to management on production status, inventory levels, and any potential issues.

4. Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency and reduce lead times.

Utilize lean manufacturing techniques and other best practices to minimize waste and optimize workflows.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to streamline processes for faster and more cost-effective production.

5. Capacity and Resource Planning:

Assess production capacity and workforce requirements to ensure that schedules are achievable.

Coordinate with HR and production management on staffing levels to meet production goals.

Recommend adjustments to production layouts, equipment, or labor as needed.

6. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Track and analyze production data, including lead times, production rates, and capacity utilization.

Prepare and present reports on production efficiency, resource utilization, and inventory turnover.

Use data to forecast demand trends and adjust production plans to meet business objectives.

7. Compliance and Safety:

Ensure that production schedules and inventory management comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Support a safe working environment by aligning production schedules with safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in furniture or related manufacturing.

Skills:

Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain principles.

Proficiency in ERP/MRP software and production planning tools.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:
